Garlic Scape Chutney

A bright condiment with a kick.

Another one of those sauces you can whip up in minutes and enjoy with whatever’s cooking. It’s refreshing, a bit spicy, a touch sweet and the scapes are a welcome addition to anything you’d add garlic to (so...everything).
 
Ingredient List:

(yields a heaping ½ cup)

12 Garlic Scapes, chopped
2 Scallions, chopped
1 cup Mint Leaves
¼ of a Jalapeño, rough chopped 
½ inch knob of Ginger, chopped
1 Lime, juice + zest
2 tbsp Honey
Salt, to season

 

 

Steps:

  1. Place all ingredients in a food processor and blitz until very finely chopped, stopping intermittently to scrape the sides with a rubber spatula. Be careful not to puree the chutney; it should be the consistency of relish.
